I specialize in travel/tourism, nutrition/culinary arts, and religion. > Education: All primary education (age 3-18) in Scandinavian schools, studying in the Swedish language, with a focus in natural sciences. I have a Swedish father and an Argentinean mother, and was born and raised in Spain. Dramaturgy (writing and adapting plays, critique and research) at RESAD in Madrid, Spain. 1999-2001, in Spanish. Nutrition and Dietetics with UNED in Spain, 2002. Linguistics BA with a minor in Scandinavian Studies at Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah (USA). 2004-2007. Cum Laude with University Honors. As a part of my Honors Thesis I have been working with the ASTM Guide to Quality Assurance in Translation - the picture you see is from when I spoke at the ATA conference in Seattle, in November 2005. > Additional Skills: I translate English to Spanish and Swedish to Spanish, but I also speak German, French, and Italian, and read Biblical Hebrew - great additional skills when it comes to translate tourist texts. I am a great traveler so I have visited many coutries, which indeed helps when writing about them. In my RESAD experience I was trained to write "in the manner of," thus learning to adapt my writing to the author's style - a great skill when it comes to literary texts. For personal interest I have studied deeply several different religions, mainly Christian (of different denominations) but also Jewish, Hindu and Buddhist. And I am extremely interested in different food styles, cooking, nutrition and how food relates to health, as well as alternative medicine systems. I have therefore read and studied much in those areas, in Spanish, English, Swedish and German. > Other Information: Other info: http://trads-lk.com/links.htm > Location: Palma de Mallorca (Spain) |
